Surrey Aunt and niece from Consult Hyperion on the run together for charity!

Surrey Aunt and Niece from technology firm Consult Hyperion run the 2012 Virgin London Marathon in aid of children’s charity Coram

Gloria Benson and Sam Coultrip, an Aunt and Niece that are both employees at Consult Hyperion, based in Guildford, have announced that they will be running the 2012 Virgin London Marathon together this year in aid of Coram, a charity that helps abandoned children find homes and support. This year’s 2012 Virgin London Marathonis taking place on 22nd April.

As Sam’s first marathon, she will be running with her Aunt Gloria, who has completed the London Marathon twice before, but was a victim of a major bike accident just 18 months ago. Now fighting fit and keen to share the experience of passing the finishing line with her niece, Gloria is training with Sam and the pair are passionate about raising as much money as they can for Coram.

Coramwas one of the first children’s charities in the UK and was set up in 1739 with the mission to develop, deliver and promote best practice in the care of vulnerable children, young people and their families. The charity’s services include adoption, creative therapies and supported housing for care leavers. The charity gives family support to 15,000 children and parents each year and runs a leading voluntary adoption service with one of the highest placement success rates in the country.

Gloria is one of the Directors at Toast of Surrey Award winners, Consult Hyperion,  based on The Mount in Guildford who also donated £400.00 to Coram from the proceeds of the Company’s 15th Annual Digital Money Forum last month.

“We’re really excited to be running the marathon together this year,” said Gloria.“I’ve done it twice in the past, but the reward of passing the finish line this year will be that much greater because I’m doing it with Sam. We’ve chosen to run for Coram because as the first children’s charities in the UK, it’s helped so many children and families for over 270 years. We want to raise as much money for them as we can; just as little as £10 will enable two children to benefit from Coram Life Education for a whole year.”
