Transport for London prototype Contactless Terminal (EMV, ITSO & Mifare)

Hyperlab has performed several development projects for Transport for London (TfL) and through these projects have developed a prototype contactless terminal which is capable of detecting and interacting with EMV, ITSO and Mifare contactless cards. This prototype was developed using embedded development to result in a prototype which runs on hardware comparable to real world payment terminals.
The prototype development proved complex functional requirements can be met within stringent performance requirements. The drive to meet both functional and performance requirements meant identifying the most efficient processing options and sequences. These findings have given TfL significant knowledge and understanding for interactions with equipment vendors.
Numerous payment and transit specifications were used to develop the prototype so as to ensure a realistic and complete processing of the prototype with a variety of contactless cards. Further to this development, members of Hyperlab have also produced several additional prototypes which have focussed on related revenue inspection activities.
The Hyperlab team’s ability to develop complex integrated solutions using numerous technologies and specifications played a significant role in the successful completion of the projects for TfL.
